Morning Glory Angoras "For Sale" Definitions
The Angora Rabbits Morning Glory Angoras offers for sale are defined using the following terms: Show Quality (SQ), Wooler (W), or Pet Quality (PQ). You will find that most of our rabbits will be listed as either Show Quality or Woolers. Below are our definitions as to 'Show Quality", "Woolers" and "Pet Quality"
Show Quality- This means that the rabbit offered for sale is fully eligible and qualified to be placed on the Show Table at ARBA sanctioned Rabbit Shows, that it is a purebred rabbit, and comes with a full Pedigree. The rabbit has been thoroughly examined by myself and has found to be free of any and all faults that would disqualify it from an ARBA sanctioned Show at time of sale. You must keep in mind, however, that there are many factors that insure that a Show Quality Rabbit REMAINS a Show Quality Rabbit! These include grooming, husbandry and feed quality, to name a few. These conditions are out of my control once the rabbit leaves my Rabbitry. I will always glady be at your service to advise you as to how to properly maintain your Angora rabbit, to keep it in top Show Condition, but if my advise is not followed, I can not guarentee that the rabbit will REMAIN of Show Quality.
Wooler- This means that the rabbit is qualified for placement in an enviorment where it's main purpose will be to produce fiber or as a pet. This rabbit maintains Morning Glory Angoras' high standards regarding health, temperment and wool quality, but will posess one or more cosmetic flaws that keep it from being eligable to be entered in an ARBA sanctioned show. These flaws may be a white toenail on a colored animal, a white spot on a colored animal, an unrecognized color, less than desireable confirmation, etc. Whatever flaw this rabbit has will be thoroughly explained to any prospective buyer before sale. This rabbit will be sold with a full pedigree, but it will be strongly recomended that this rabbit is not used in a breeding program where Show Quality rabbits are desired.
Pet Quality- As with aWooler, this rabbit will not be eligible to be entered in ARBA sanctined shows, but will make a loving, delightful pet. The reasons may vary, and may include the cosmetic flaws listed above. The most common difference between a Pet Quality rabbit and a Wooler will be the wool quality (density, wool texture, etc.) on a Pet Quality rabbit will not be up to Show Quality or Wooler standards. This could very well be a plus to those who desire an Angora Rabbit as a pet, as the Angora produces great quantities of wool, which MUST be properly maintained. With a Pet Quality rabbit, with lesser wool density, coat maintainance may be a bit easier;) Of course, health and temperment will be up to our normal standards. (If a rabbit is lacking in either health or temperment, it wouldn't make a very nice pet, would it???) The other exception is that a pedigree is usually not offered with a Pet Quality rabbit. If having a pedigree is really important to you, one may be offered, depending on circumstances, but will be marked "Pet Only".
